Maximo Park are set to return with their third album and a UK tour shortly, but will first play a free gig in Newcastle in aid of the No Surrender Charity.
Maximo are set to return with their third album ‘Quicken The Heart’ in May, after swiftly selling out most of their forthcoming UK live dates last month.
The Charity show will be an emotional occasion for the band, after No Surrender founder Jason Boas – a band friend – passed away recently. To mark the occasion, Maximo will be signing 250 copies of forthcoming single ‘Wraithlike’ for the event, which will be on sale on the evening with all proceeds going to charity.
The band’s third LP has been gathering momentum, with Radio 1 DJ Zane Lowe playing their single – the aforementioned ‘Wraithelike’ – twice in a row on his radio show, a rare occasion famously previously pulled off upon the release of The Strokes’ ’12:51′ single.
