Maxïmo Park Confirm Newcastle Election Night Special

A one-off show...

Maxïmo Park will play a special election show in Newcastle this week.

The band have long made their political views clear, through both interviews and their lyrics. Pushing back against the bleak state of British politics, Maxïmo Park have decided to host a special show on election night.

The UK general election takes place on July 4th – get out and vote, people! – with Maxïmo Park set to play a concert in The Star & Shadow Cinema in Newcastle.

A one-off show, donations to the Newcastle West End Foodbank will be encouraged on the door, while Maxïmo Park aim to preview material from their forthcoming album ‘Stream of Life’.

The best bit: it’s a free show, and all people need to do to get access is pre-save the album with this link –

The band comment…

“We wanted to premiere some new songs in one of our favourite DIY venues in our hometown. We thought it would be fun to have an election theme, given the date, but, on a serious note, try to raise a bit of money for a local food bank, since the poorest in society have suffered the most under the current government.”

Maxïmo Park will release new album ‘Stream Of Life’ on September 27th.
