Matt Walsh and Daniel Avery have confirmed plans for new night Movement Club.
Two DJs with a vast range of experience, Matt Walsh and Daniel Avery have grown tired of having their playlists hemmed in. Searching their record collections, the pair hatched an idea for a club where there was no music policy.
Searching around London for the right venue, Matt Walsh and Daniel Avery are now ready to make their move. Movement Club launches on April 19th, with Dalston’s Hysteria venue set to house their beat experiment.
Both DJs will get time on the decks, while each instalment of Movement Club will boast a high profile guest. In a twist, the identity of the guest will never be revealed until they come onstage, with Movement Club aiming to retain a certain level of secrecy.
“We want people to come early and listen to a night of music. This is a club about DJs who know what they’re doing, not just names on a flyer. We want the crowd to trust us and know that they’re going to have a good time, whoever is playing” explained Daniel Avery.
“And there are some big names confirmed, acts who you would never normally get a chance to see in a 200 capacity space”.
Matt Walsh added: “It’s also a chance for us to give something back to some of the DJs who have booked and supported us. They can come down and play whatever they want to a small room of good people on a big sound system”.
He finished: “Everyone we’ve approached seems to be jumping at the opportunity”.
The new found eclecticism will be accompanied by a direct visual approach. Flyers for the opening instalment of Movement Club are set to be steered by Daniel Bartha and Matt Pell, who recently worked with Avery on his Divided Love project.
