Marianne Faithful Instore

Intimate show planned

Returning chanteuse Marianne Faithful has scheduled a very special one off show at London’s Rough Trade East record store.

Marianne Faithful was still a schoolgirl when discovered by Rolling Stones manager Andrew Loog Oldham. The singer almost immediately flew into the charts with a version of ‘As Days Go By’ becoming an overnight sensation.

Bright eyed and beautiful, Faithful became one of the icons of the 60s as her love affair with Mick Jagger blossomed. However a mis-carriage and the death of close friend Brian Jones pushed the singer into depression and drug addiction.

Eventually sleeping rough in London, Faithful returned with her punk infused album ‘Broken English’. Achieving the status of an elder figure in the British music scene, Faithful remains every bit the icon with her new album ‘Easy Come Easy Go’ a refreshing collection of covers.

An acclaimed actress, Faithful recently broke the news that her autobiography is due to be turned into a film. Unsurprisingly the book is a tumultuous read, charting her rise to fame and descent into drug addiction. Ending with her successful comeback, it has all the makings of a blockbuster with a background cast that draws on some of the superstars of the age.

Marianne Faithful will play a very special instore at Rough Trade East on April 15th. The show will be free but entry is restricted to wristband only, with bands given out on hour before the show.

Marianne Faithful will play the following shows:

15 Rough Trade East London
