Born in Rhode Island, Mapei was forced to embrace a different world when her parents moved to Sweden.
Causing no small amount of identity crisis, the young artist fused this with a blistering love of classic – for which read 90s – hip hop.
Since then, though, Mapei has mellowed. Utilising her singing voice, the Swedish based performer has decided to shift in a defiantly pop direction.
