Ireland’s biggest festival Oxegen has added Welsh rock legends Manic Street Preachers to their bill.
Set in the rolling Irish countryside, Oxegen has grown until it is now in a position to compete with some of Europe’s biggest events. Taking place over three days the festival combines a stunning bill with a typically warm Irish welcome.
This year’s event will be headlined by Kings Of Leon and Blur, who will play their first Irish date in a decade. Joining them are Australian legend Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds, with many more top acts still to be confirmed.
Manic Street Preachers are legends in British music, having sold millions of albums and won countless awards. The band are set to revisit their past this year with a new album using notebooks of lyrics left behind by their guitarist Richey Edwards.
Edwards disappeared in 1995 – the case has never been solved, although his family had him legally declared dead last year.
American electro vixen Lady Gaga has torn apart the British charts, scoring a massive number one hit with ‘Just Dance’. Florence And The Machine has yet to release an album but have already scooped a Critic’s Choice Brit Award – find out what the fuss is over at this year’s Oxegen.
In addition to this the organisers have announced a new stage. Expanding the massive sit even further, the Red Bull Music Academy Arena will host some of the biggest names around.
Oxegen takes place between July 10th – 12th.
