New additions to Spanish festival

Spanish festival Bilbao BBK has added to its line up with Welsh trio Manic Street Preachers set to appear.

Laid out in the hills of Spain, Bilbao BBK overlooks the historic city. A celebration of music and art, the festival has grown from a regional event into one of the premiere festivals on the European calendar.

This year the event boasts some stellar headliners. American giants Pearl Jam are to perform, fresh from the release of their latest album. The band will be joined by German metal filth merchants Rammstein, who are perhaps one of the most spectacular live acts on the planet right now.

Now organisers have confirmed a host of new additions to the line up. Welsh rock trio Manic Street Preachers have been added to the bill, despite the band having a chequered history with festivals.

A visit to Glastonbury in 1993 saw Nicky Wire openly wish for a bypass to be built over the site, while a return performance was dogged by controversy after the band criticised the state of the toilets.

Perhaps the Spanish sun will bring out the best in the Welsh trio. Bilbao BBK has also bagged performances from Jet, thrash metal giants Slayer, Bullet For My Valentine and many more.

To celebrate the new additions Bilbao BBK have confirmed details of a new ticket promotion scheme. The first 1000 weekend passes for the festival will be available at just £65 with more details set to emerge soon.

Bilbao BBK is due to take place between July 8th - 12th.
