Manic Street Preachers have been forced to postpone a show in Birmingham because of illness.
Emerging from a former mining village, Manic Street Preachers have a strong work ethic. Not for them a four year sabbatical on the Indian sub-continent to write new material – this band can really graft.
Returning with their new album ‘Postcards From A Young Man’ the group have announced their intention to storm the mainstream. Manic Street Preachers crafted their most euphoric album in some time, and were rewarded with a Top Five placing.
Following this, the trio launched a massive British tour. Reaching back into their back catalogue, Manic Street Preachers have mixed album hits, rarely heard tracks and material from their acclaimed new album.
However a scheduled show in Birmingham last night (October 26th) was postponed at the last minute. Re-arranged for December 14th, all tickets for the original show remain valid for the new date.
Issuing a statement, Manic Street Preachers frontman James Dean Bradfield explained that illness forced the band to abandon the show. “I would like to personally apologise for the situation tonight” he explained.
“Nothing makes us feel worse than having to postpone a show, especially since we always receive a great reaction in Birmingham. The audience there have always been loyal to us. Again, sincere apologies for this.”
In addition to this, a spokesperson from the band revealed that refunds for the show are available is necessary.
Manic Street Preachers are due to re-commence the tour with a show at London’s O2 Academy Brixton on Thursday (October 28th).
