Welsh indie pop collective Los Campesinos! are set to take part in a new picnic based tour in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust.
As the summer dawns, thoughts turn to long afternoons in the park. This year, music fans will have an expertly picked soundtrack to their picnics with the Teenage Cancer Trust launching a new series of shows.
Spread between London, Bristol, Birmingham and Liverpool the shows will take place in parks and band stands across the country. Kicking off on June 12th, each event will mix live music with DJs to get that summer feeling.
Amongst the acts confirmed for the new shows are Los Campesinos!. With their second album still fresh in the memory, the Cardiff based collective are on fighting form recently completing a lengthy UK tour.
Los Campesinos! will perform on a band stand as part of the new tour, and the Welsh group will be joined by some acclaimed newcomers. Blue Roses is set to take part, with dream pop outfit Summer Camp also performing in a park near you.
Elsewhere, New Young Pony Club will kickstart their second album with a special live date while Goldheart Assembly are also due to perform. Indie pop two piece Slow Club are preparing to release their new single ‘Giving Up On Love’ and the group will bring the rickety charm of their live show to the Teenage Cancer Trust shows.
In addition to the organised shows, the Teenage Cancer Trust are set to host events in cities across the country. Featuring live performances, DJ sets, daily raffles and more the shows take place throughout June.
Teenage Cancer Trusts picnic tour series launches on June 12th.
