Lollapalooza Release Full Line Up

The Strokes, Arcade Fire... Lady Gaga?

The full line up for Lollapalooza has been released, with The Strokes and more set to perform.

Founded by Jane’s Addiction singer Perry Farrell, Lollapalooza was originally modelled on a travelling circus. Taking in cities across the United States, the event grew in tandem with the grunge boom.

Eventually settling in Chicago, Lollapalooza has lost its debauched edge but remains a hugely influential event. Taking place between August 6th – 8th, this year’s festival boasts from truly stellar talent.

New York indie dons The Strokes are set to return with their new album later this year, and the band are planning to unleash new material at Lollapalooza. Much anticipated, the eventual release will end almost five years of silence.

Joining the indie legends on the bill are epic Canadian types Arcade Fire. A truly life affirming live show, the group’s seminal studio offerings rank among some of the most influential guitar music of the past decade.

Elsewhere, millionaire pop-punk group Green Day are due to perform at Grant Park, with the likes of Social Distortion, MGMT and French electro rockers Phoenix also set to appear at Lollapalooza.

Mixing new talent with bona fide legends, Devo are set to storm the Chicago event while dope smokin’ hip hop crew Cypress Hill will take to the stage.

Reggae star Jimmy Cliff will appear, while the likes of Yeasayer, Spoon, Chromeo and more will keep fans of the American underground rock scene happy. Oh and Lady Gaga will appear as well. Nice.

Lollapalooza is set to take place between August 6th – 8th.
