Lois & The Love are set to play a one off London show this week at the St. Moritz in Soho.
The Clash team love a good drinking den, and that's exactly what the St. Moritz is – a den. An intimate basement venue in Soho, it sits underneath a restaurant, somehow managing to fight off the encroaching commercialisation which has infected the surrounding area.
Retaining its own identity, the club is a source of scoundrels, vagabonds and storytellers. Later this week – November 21st, in fact – newcomers Lois & The Love are set to tread the boards at the venue, marking a one off performance from the group.
Already draped in hype, Lois & The Love have a dark, intense sound. A little like PJ Harvey's more direct moments, or even the ballad-inspired side of Nick Cave, the band's material has an underlying menace and charisma that is difficult to shrug off. New single 'Rabbit Hole'/'Dark Serenade' is out this week, and to celebrate Clash has been granted the first showing of their latest video.
Matching 'Dark Serenade' to some striking visuals, you can watch the clip below.
