Live Report: Snow Strippers – O2 Forum Kentish Town, London

An immersive, rave-like experience in real-time...

On Friday, the American electronic duo Snow Strippers delivered a memorable performance at O2 Forum Kentish Town, leaving the sold-out venue euphoric and lively. Known for their industrial, glitch-heavy beats and distorted vocals, the pair had the crowd jumping from beginning to end.

From the moment Snow Strippers hit the stage, bathed in strobing white lights and heavy smoke, the energy was electric. Producer and co-founder Graham Perez took to the stage first while Taitana Schwaninger, Snow Strippers vocalist, danced around the stage as soon as the first track kicked off, her ad libs bounced around the venue as the audience sang back to her throughout the evening. Behind the decks, Graham began with ‘Just Your Doll’ a track that combines jumpy EDM elements, glitch breakdowns with outlasting bass and repeating lyrics.

What made Snow Strippers stand out was their ability to create a high energy club night out of a concert. Tracks with ice cool, hypnotic production like ‘Know My Name’, ‘Kinda Like It That Way’ and ‘So What if I’m A Freak’ with Tatiana’s ghostly, distorted melodies married to create an immersive, rave-like experience in real-time.

Before each track Graham would press a button on the decks that played their ad lib ‘Night Killaz’ getting the crowd hype before the next track was dropped. Throughout the evening, Perez teased an unreleased track which excited fans, showing as much love for the music that has not dropped yet as they did for their more well-known tracks.

With the night drawing to a close and one song left to go, Graham announced the anthemic closing track ‘Under Your Spell’ plunging the audience into a night they will never forget. From the start to the end, Snow Strippers delivered an energetic performance which was reflected back by the nonstop dancing in the audience, a truly enjoyable experience.
