The Xcerts
The Xcerts use new single ‘GIMME’ to signal a rebirth. The band’s cult debut album ‘In The Cold Wind We Smile’ landed back in 2009, and they’ve walked their own path ever since. A huge live act – particularly in their native Scotland – The Xcerts remain a devoutly independent proposition.
Now they’re ready to write their next chapter. Freshly signed to Australian independent label UNFD, they’ve inked a brand new worldwide multi-album record contract. Frontman Murray Macleod comments…. “We’re over the moon to have joined the UNFD family. It’s perhaps the first time in our career we have signed with a label who are as passionate about the band as we are. We feel very fortunate to be taken on by such a brilliant and versatile company this deep into our career.”
It all starts with new single ‘GIMME’, a furiously catchy, superbly punchy return. Bursting out of the traps, it’s all energy and daring, the piledriver chorus remaining lodged in your head for hours afterwards. A band who are continually raising their ambitions, ‘GIMME’ shows that The Xcerts have their eyes on the prize. The group explain…
“It’s been too long since we last released new music and we wanted to reintroduce ourselves with a rebirth of sorts. ‘GIMME’ is our most bombastic piece of work, sonically and musically, so it felt like the perfect introduction to the new era. Unapologetically in your face and written with complete artistic freedom. Lyrically, it’s more observational than gut-wrenchingly personal; when burning desire meets apathy, it’s both comical and pitiful, which makes for one hell of a scene.”

SNAKE EYES
Snake eyes’ distinguishable sound is supercharged, having already mastered the fiery choruses, grungy riffs and catchy hollering brit-pop sensibilities. Aptly coined by the band as ‘grit pop’. Alongside mostly upbeat music, heffy’s lyrics hold the meaning of being kind and the freedom to express yourself no matter who you are.
The visuals created by the band’s own Thomas Coe-Brooker, accompany the music with a story – always pleasing aesthetically with their scrappy, colourful, nostalgic style – think Wolf Alice, Nirvana, Blur and The Pixies.
Jim, Nicole and Brooker came out of lockdown hungry to slog away at as many live shows as they could. We have only just scratched the surface of what the Brighton three-piece are capable of as they aim to spread the word of grit pop everywhere.

Oxford based Petsematary take a darker look into the Ethereal, combing soaring vocals with dreamy distorted soundscapes. Stream their new single ‘Get Away With It’ HERE.
