July 30th marks the second year that Ultrafunkula’s Secret Island Festival brings its 4 dance stages to Mersea Island just outside Colchester, deep in Essex.

A collective of likeminded local promoters, island residents and local heroes have been pouring their energies into building an annual celebration of electronic music.

With over 50 artists performing including Norman Jay MBE, Stanton Warriors, Mampi Swift, Kenny Kenn, Rinse FM’s Uncle Dugs, Terry Francis, Dutchie and more.

Mersea Island itself is home to a growing population of artists and locals. Plenty of sandy beaches, coastal walks, ice cream shops, cafes fresh fish served by a selection of restaurants around the harbour and local pubs serving rustic food aplenty. Lots of whom will be selling their wares on-site.
