There are few more singular names in British music than The The. Spearheaded by Matt Johnson, their catalogue is riddled with intensity and daring, fusing crunching rock sounds with future-facing electronica.
Eschewing genre boundaries, the group have built a catalogue dominated by invention. Moving into a fresh decade, their album ‘Ensoulment’ saw The The remain at the top of their game, challenging the lofty peaks of the past.
The band return to London this week for two shows – Alexandra Palace at the weekend, and O2 Academy Brixton tomorrow night (October 1st).
