Live Gallery: London Bands Unite to Celebrate The Breeders And Pixies Album Anniversaries
Dancing Barefoot hosted a sold-out event Frank Black Friday: Big Kim Deals bringing together London’s alt-music and creative scenes at MOTH Club to celebrate two seminal bands most influential albums hitting respective landmarks.
With The Breeders’ ‘Last Splash’ turning 25 and The Pixies ‘Surfer Rosa’ turning 35 it felt like a very good reason for a party.
The event included live performances from a series of house bands encompassing members of Avice Caro, Blue Bendy, DEADLETTER, Folly Group, Gently Tender, Goat Girl, Handcuff, Hank, HMLTD, Horsey, Honeyglaze, Human Interest, Jerkcurb, Katy J Pearson, Lambrini Girls, LICE, Modern Woman, Platonic Erotica, Roscoe Roscoe, Ruby, Shame, Tapir!, The Golden Dregs, The Itch, Unlucky and more.
Performing under the monikers; Softly Softly Catches Monkey Gone To Heaven, The Inbreeders, Dude, Where’s My Mind?, The Pixies (Not to be confused with Pixies, a Rock And Roll band from the 80s), Kim Deal or No Deal, Here Comes Your Nan and Weetabixies.
The event was documented by photographers Kalisha Quinlan and Kyleen Hengelhaupt.
