Live Gallery: Liam Gallagher – The O2 Arena, London

Performing 'Definitely Maybe' in full...

Can it really be 30 years since the release of ‘Definitely Maybe’? An album that rocketed Oasis into the stratosphere, it helped to define a decade – or more – of British guitar music, a series of songs laden in snarling ambition.

Oasis may be no more, but Liam Gallagher is still out here, preaching the word to the people. The singer’s ongoing solo renaissance is a thing of wonder, and he’s taken it upon himself to celebrate the coming-of-age of the band’s debut LP.

Touring around the country, Liam Gallagher has packed out some of the biggest venues in the land. A rallying cry for fans, these ‘Definitely Maybe’ shows are an excuse to indulge in some harmless nostalgia, while also embracing the rock ‘n’ roll spirit that made it so intoxicating.

Hitting the O2 Arena in London for a flurry of sold-out shows, Liam Gallagher was on peerless form during the opening night. CLASH photographer Connie Burke got up close.
