Live Gallery: Fat White Family – Troxy, London

Night of queazy yet riveting ecstasy...

Is there a live show as singular, as unsettling, as gripping as The Fat White Family? Right from the start, the fetid South London crew have been a riveting concert experience, a thrilling blend of theatrical confrontation and grinding sleaze-punk riffs.

When CLASH met frontman Lias Soaudi earlier this year, he was sanguine about their motivations. “I do this to avoid the terror of an office job,” he declares. “I mean, in this climate, you’re just rolling with the punches, you know?”

Catching Fat White Family at London venue the Troxy, however, there is no quarter given, and none asked for. A mixture of the erotic and the profane, the band aim to titillate and inspire, pushing the crowd’s boundaries back just a little further in the process.

An evening of communion and confrontation, Fat White Family remain one of the country’s most ecstatic rock ‘n’ roll phenomenons.
