Hotly tipped electro pixie Little Boots is set to hit the road for a new British tour due to take place throughout October.
The year opened with the indie community bracing itself for an onslaught from little more young women bearing antique synths. Electro singers such as Ladyhawke had lit up 2008, with scores more set to deluge the charts as the year opened.
Yet somehow, it never happened. Aside from La Roux’s solitary hit the new wave of female talent has been restricted to the dancefloors. Possibly the most talented of the lot, Little Boots is set to tour the UK and could well turn her fortunes around.
Real name Victoria Hesketh, Little Boots has had a lengthy musical education. Having once auditioned for Pop Idol the singer then toured with a jazz trio before ditching her past and plugging in her MiniKorg.
With a neat pop touch and biting lyrics, Little Boots seemed tailor made for success. Teaming up with long term friend and collaborator Greg Kirstin the singer began working on her debut album, and was swiftly snapped up by a major label.
Early single ‘New In Town’ found success before a tabloid managed to pick up on a picture of Little Boots drunkenly kissing fellow electro vixen Florence Welch. Stung by allegations she was bisexual, the singer issued a statement saying “I was not kissing back. As much as I love Florence, not in that way. She is crazy, in the best possible way.”
Debut album ‘Hands’ followed soon after, but the record’s glossy touch left many scratching their heads as to what the fuss was about. However beneath the album’s sheen lies a beating pop heart, with Little Boots capable of much more.

Little Boots is due to play Glastonbury at the weekend, before heading out on a nationwide jaunt. The singer has confirmed the following dates:
