Highly anticipated one day event Field Day has added more new names to its stellar bill with electro starlet Little Boots joining the Victoria Park bash.
Field Day was established by a loose coalition of London promoters as an alternative to the warm lager, same old bill type events that often clutter the festival calendar. Set in the historic Victoria Park, Field Day combines a warm atmosphere with one of the hottest bills around.
The festival has an emphasis on left field music, with headline performances confirmed from Scottish post rockers Mogwai and electro pin up boy Erol Alkan.
Since formed in Belshill over ten years ago Mogwai have become one of the most renowned post-rock outfits on the planet, combining a keen sense of sonic exploration with an ear-splitting live show.
Erol Alkan has grown to become one of the most in-demand producers and DJs around. His legendary clubnight Trash finished last year, but Alkan retains a massive following with his inspired re-edits becoming dancefloor favourites.
Further down the bill lie some incredible talent. Electronic guru Four Tet is due to perform, and will be joined by close friend and collaborator James Yorkston.
Fellow Scottish songwriter Malcolm Middleton is also scheduled to play, with his new album ‘Waxing Gibbous’ due to be released in June. The eclectic bill extends to otherworldly American Final Fantasy and dubstep guru Skream.
New addition Little Boots is one of the industry’s hottest names right now. Forthcoming single ‘New In Town’ is being tipped for success, with the singer already adorning magazine covers.
Field Day takes place on August 1st.
