New York post-punk legends Liquid Liquid are among the first batch of acts confirmed for this year’s Offset festival.
Held in Hainault forest, there is nothing quite like Offset. Combining an eclectic hand-picked bill with beautiful surroundings, the festival is a mere 30 minute train ride from central London – shorter than some people’s daily commute.
Last year the festival boasted a number of special headline sets, including London garage-goth types The Horrors. Returning this summer for another instalment of musical hi-jinks, Offset has confirmed a series of stunning acts.
Liquid Liquid emerged from New York’s post-punk milieu, combining a minimal approach to rock music with near tribal percussion. The group’s recorded output sold sparsely, yet their music has been kept alive by fans.
A lavish re-issue on Domino Records exposed Liquid Liquid to a new audience, with the New York group reforming for a series of special dates. Due to perform at Offset, the seminal band will be joined by some illustrious names.
Krautrock legends Cluster are due to perform at the forest event, fresh from a lavish re-issue series of their own. Meanwhile Telepathe will showcase their electronic skills while returning Southend indie kingpins These New Puritans are planning to justify the hype.
Releasing their second album ‘Hidden’ earlier this year the band have been deluged in praise, with a new found ambition making clear their left fiend intentions.
Taking place over eight stages, Offset will contain more than 200 artists with a line up which offers a compelling alternative to the usual beer branded fare.
Offset is set to take place between September 4th – 5th.
