Lil Silva and Shy One will headline the Red Bull Selector Stage at Notting Hill Carnival this summer.
The carnival remains Europe’s biggest outdoor procession, a colossal union of music, people, and camaraderie. Very much London at its best, Notting Hill Carnival is a celebration of Black Caribbean culture that has grown to have global resonance.
This year the Red Bull Selector Stage is taking control at Emslie Horniman’s Pleasance Park on Sunday, August 25th. Non-ticketed, fans can soak up pivotal headline sets from revered producer – and CLASH cover star – Lil Silva, as well as crucial DJ and producer Shy One.
The event will be hosted by Faceinthenews and Fatz, and the line-up is bustling with talent – ranging from dancehall queen Alicaì Harley to Jordss and p-rallel going B2B on the decks; from UKG kingpins Heartless Crew through to three-time Red Bull Culture Clash winner Sir DJ Corey and Soca king DJ Tate.
Flipping the ‘no requests’ rule on its head, fans will be able to shape the set organically – each person present will be given red and blue voting tools, and a screen behind the respective selectors will be split into red and blue halves.
During the show, musical cues will appear on the screen – Original or Remix, Soca or Dancehall, Old School or New School – meaning that the crowd can guide the direction of the set. Pretty cool, eh?
