American two piece noise rock act Lightning Bolt have confirmed a series of UK tour dates – their first for some time.
Sod dance music, real drum and bass is being made by a two piece act from Providence. Reducing rock to its central components Lightning Bolt have carved out a name for themselves with some truly brutal live performances.
Setting up in the middle of the audience, Lightning Bolt shows involve a lot of audience participation. Stretching their reductive format to its very limit, the band’s output resembles Sun Ra jamming with Minor Threat.
Returning with their first new material in some time, the band’s forthcoming album ‘Earthly Delights’ is their first in four years. A stunning return, it is typically stripped down affair from Lightning Bolt.
Containing some tank force brutality, ‘Earthly Delights’ also boasts the odd moment of tranquility from the band. Released via their long term home of Load Records, the album is a mind expanding excursion into the outer regions of noise.
To celebrate the release of their new album Lightning Bolt have arranged some rare British shows. Opening with a show in Leeds on December 3rd the band are also due to play at All Tomorrow’s Parties (twice) before heading off around the country.
