Lemonheads For White Air

Brighton event grabs grunge legend

Legendary grunge group The Lemonheads have been added to the bill for the forthcoming Brighton event White Air.

Blending extreme sports with music, White Air is a new fixture for the festival calendar. Sure, Brighton might more than its fair share of quality music events but White Air offers a little something different – the fear factor.

The event blends music and danger sports such as BMX, mountain biking, windsurfing, kite surfing and jet ski events, some of which festivalgoers will be encouraged to join in. Held on Brighton beach, White Air has also nabbed some stars names to keep you distracted between death defying feats.

Grunge legends The Lemonheads are the latest name to join the party. Formed by Evan Dando the recently reformed group have just released a new album of cover versions – done in their distinctive style.

One of the pre-eminent songwriters of the 90s at one point it seemed as though Dando would be lost to us through his own debauchery. However the singer has calmed down somewhat in recent year, and has recaptured his songwriting skills.

Already announced for the bill are Scottish giants Biffy Clyro. Hailing from Ayr the band are set to follow the mammoth success of their track ‘Mountain’ with latest single ‘That Golden Rule’.

Also on the bill are returning Manchester heroes Doves, indie dons The Cribs and gloomy Londoners White Lies.

With a host of other names still to be announced, White Air looks like a great way to see out the summer.

White Air takes place between September 18th – 19th.
