LCD Soundsystem are set to headline this year's Roskilde festival.
The epic Danish event is lauded for its big name appearances and its non-commercial ethos, and this year's bill looks to be pretty special.
LCD Soundsystem are due to headline Roskilde, part of a wave of festival appearances from the newly reformed group. Head of Programme Anders Wahrén says:
“LCD Soundsystem’s reunion almost came out of the blue, and we didn’t dare to believe the initial rumours. We’re happy to be part of this reunion, presenting them for the third time at Roskilde Festival. Unlike many other bands, LCD Soundsystem pulled the plug at the very height of their success, and they won’t just play shows, they’ll also treat us to a new album. We’re fully convinced that they’ll live up to the massive expectations."
Elsewhere, Danish pop star MØ will play Roskilde, while the bill also features Floating Points, Recondite and Savages. Australian psych juggernaut Tame Impala will play the festival, while CHVRCHES and Destroyer have also been added to the bill.
Tickets are on sale now.
Roskilde runs between June 25th – July 2nd.
