LCD Soundsystem Prepare Live Album

'The London Sessions' out soon

LCD Soundsystem are due to release live album ‘The London Sessions’ later this month.

One of the decade’s most influential dance acts, LCD Soundsystem are set to call it a day at the end of this year. The curtain will fall on the hugely respected band, after three albums which helped define the DFA sound.

Led by James Murphy, LCD Soundsystem blend post-punk, Detroit techno and more. Returning with their third album ‘This Is Happening’ the band were rewarded with a customary blast of warm reviews.

Announcing the end of the band, LCD Soundsystem are set to play a joint headline tour with Hot Chip. The two acts will swap positions, playing across the UK first before travelling to North America.

Due to kick off on November 10th in London’s Alexandra Palace, the band are set to release a live album to coincide with the tour.

LCD Soundsystem entered The Pool / Miloco Studios earlier this year, pounding through their live set. Taking place on June 29th, the band blasted through tracks from all three studio albums.

‘Daft Punk Is Playing At My House’ takes pride of place, while recent single ‘Drunk Girls’ also appears. Classic track ‘All My Friends’ is given an airing, before the album finishes with a rendition of ‘Yr City’s A Sucker’.

‘The London Sessions’ are set to be released on November 9th through iTunes, reports Pitchfork. The band’s first ever live album, the recording will only be available for a short time before being deleted on December 6th.

Possibly the final release from LCD Soundsystem, James Murphy has admitted that the band could continue as a studio only ensemble.
