LCD Soundsystem have confirmed plans for a residency at London’s O2 Academy Brixton.
The group completed a New York run in November and December, and began teasing a live venture on this side of the Atlantic. Beaming the DFA Records logo on landmarks around London, LCD seemed to point to a project in their spiritual home.
The band have close links to London, a place that embraced LCD Soundsystem from the start.
Now the move has been confirmed. LCD Soundsystem will play a full residency at O2 Academy Brixton, taking place in June. Eight performances have been confirmed, including two early Sunday night shows between 5pm and 9pm.
The shows come as James Murphy continues to drop hints about new material from LCD Soundsystem. The band shared the single ‘x-ray eyes’ in November, their first new music since 2022’s ‘New Body Rhumba’.
Tickets for the new dates go on general sale at 9:00am on Friday March 7th and will be available from aegp.uk/lcd-soundsystem.
