Mercury nominated singer Laura Marling has confirmed a nine date tour of the UK later this year.
Laura Marling has had a dramatic year. Her celebrated debut album ‘Alas I Cannot Swim’ was nominated for the Mercury, placing the singer under enormous pressure for any potential follow up.
Dying her hair dark, the singer seemed subdued on the release of ‘I Speak Because I Can’. Informed by changes in her personal life, the album marked the further maturing of Laura Marling as a songwriting force.
Hailed by critics, her effortless voice was matched by warm arrangements. Again nominated for the Mercury, Laura Marling once again lost out – though given the unwanted press attention perhaps that is a good thing.
The now blonde again singer has confirmed a nine date tour across the UK, beginning in Sheffield this November. The shows will take place in some of her biggest venues to date, emphasising the progress Laura Marling has made this year.
Confirming nine headline shows, Laura Marling is due to perform two nights at London’s Conway Hall. Elsewhere, the singer will perform in Norwich, Liverpool and Edinburgh amongst others.
Ending in Cardiff’s Glee Club on December 1st, tickets for the tour are due to go on sale this Wednesday (September 22nd) at 9am.
After the headline dates are completed Laura Marling is set to support Vampire Weekend at their enormous Alexandra Palace show. A historic venue, her support slot will witness the singer performing in front of a massive crowd.
