Welsh wyrd folk festival The Green Man has added the likes of Laura Marling, Mumford And Sons and more to its bill.
Shrouded in mist, The Green Man is one of Britain’s most unique outdoor music events. Last year organisers bussed in genuine druids straight from Stonehenge to bless the site, securing a rain free festival.
This year The Green Man have gone for something a little more lateral. Headliners for the Welsh event this summer include The Flaming Lips, fresh from giving Pink Floyd’s ‘Dark Side Of The Moon’ a thorough overhaul.
Also headlining are Manchester band Doves and American harp-clasping wyrd folk maverick Joanna Newsom. With her new album ‘Have One On Me’ scoring rave reviews, Newsom’s booking is perhaps one of the summer’s most inspired choices.
A series of new acts have been added to the bill, with Laura Marling set to star at the Brecon Beacons event. Fresh from the success of her debut album ‘I Speak Because I Can’ the singer has played a series of sold out dates across the UK.
A sparkling live performer, Laura Marling is set to be joined by close friends Mumford And Sons. The London based group performed on her debut album, before going on to find success of their own.
Debut album ‘Sigh No More’ stormed into the Top Ten, while a sold out UK tour saw the band unveil their scorching live sound. Other new additions include Tindersticks, Danish group Efterklang, The Besnard Lakes and many more.
With plenty more surprises yet to be confirmed, The Green Man is set for a typically unique weekend.
The Green Man takes place between August 20th – 22nd.
