Folk singer Laura Marling is among the latest acts confirmed for this summer’s Latitude festival.
Held on the South Coast, Latitude mixes typically warm weather with a carefully picked bill. This year organisers have out done themselves, with new additions including Laura Marling and some close friends.
With her new album ‘I Speak Because I Can’ entered the charts earlier this year, Laura Marling has completed her ascendancy into the mainstream. Critically acclaimed for her debut album, it seems word has spread about her special talent.
The album contains guest appearances from Mumford And Sons, with the musicians going back a long way. Hosting a London pub session together, Marling & Co. would be joined by Johnny Flynn and Noah And The Whale singer Charlie Fink.
With Laura Marling confirmed for Latitude, the singer will join a bill which also contains Mumford And Sons. Two of the year’s biggest breakthrough acts, the pair will play Latitude later this year.
Also set to join the south coast party is soul diva Corinne Bailey Rae. Returning with her emotionally fraught second album, the singer’s live performances have been rapturously received by fans.
Meanwhile organisers have also confirmed performances from Californian psych pop outfit Girls, Kassidy and more.
Of course, Latitude have already confirmed one of the summer’s real coups with Scottish indie pop legends Belle And Sebastian set to play a rare festival date – one of the band’s first live appearances in some time.
Latitude is due to take place between July 15th – 18th.
