Lana Del Rey is the latest artist to confirm her involvement with this summer’s instalment of Sonar.
Held in Barcelona, Sonar began life as an exploration of electronic music. Over time though, the event’s line ups have diversified with the festival now boasting a broad array of styles and genres.
The latest line up announcement sits easily within this new eclecticism. Lana Del Rey is one of the year’s most discussed newcomers, with her debut album ‘Born To Die’ recently rocketing into the UK charts at number one.
With only a handful of live appearances under her belt, Lana Del Rey is set to drop by Sonar this summer. Set to focus on her internationally successful debut album, the singer’s performance comes as the line up expands once again.
Hot Chip are expected to release a new album this year, and the British band will drop past the Barcelona event to (hopefully) unveil some new material. Elsewhere, American hip hop icons The Roots are due to perform while Fatboy Slim will take his perennially popular show to this summer’s Sonar.
Elsewhere, James Blake will play a DJ set while Nicolas Jaar, Luciano, Azari & III, Jacques Lu Cont, Mouse On Mars, Metronomy and more have been confirmed.
Sonar are renowned for their label showcases, which always act as a suitable cross-section for innovation in dance music. Suitably, the imprints getting involved this year include Hyperdub, Brainfeeder and more.
Sonar runs between June 14th – 16th. Line up:
Lana Del Rey / The Roots / Modeselektor / Hot Chip / James Blake DJ / Fatboy Slim / Richie Hawtin / Amon Tobin / Squarepusher / Deadmau5 / Nicolas Jaar / Luciano / Azari & III / Jacques Lu Cont / Friendly Fires / Metronomy / John Talabot / Mouse On Mars
