Tickets to this year’s DIY feminist arts celebration Ladyfest Ten are on sale now, with day passes starting at £12.50 and weekend passes from £30.
Returning once more, the line-up for this year’s Ladyfest includes MEN (featuring Le Tigre’s JD Samson), MC Envy and Viv Albertine (The Slits). Albertine’s performance comes in the wake of the Oct. 20 death of former Slits’ front-woman, Ari Up.
The festival isn’t limited only to music, but also showcases comedy, cabaret, literature, craft, film, art, dance and debates as well. Other notable participants include English writer and journalist Cathi Unsworth and poet Laura Dockrill, as well as events like creative writing workshops and a travelling suitcase library.
Ladyfest also features The Lady Garden, an interactive space that includes workshops from the likes of Tatty Devine, Shoreditch Sisters WI and the London Word Festival Landgirls.
This year’s festival runs from 12th – 14th November, and will take place at various venues in North London, including The Relentless Garage, The Horatia, Studio La Danza and the Holloway Resource Centre. Tickets can be purchased at http://ladyfestten.com/tickets/. More information about Ladyfest Ten can also be found on Twitter, Facebook and YouTube, as well as the festival’s official website, www.ladyfestten.com.
This is the tenth year of Ladyfest, a non-profit festival designed to celebrate DIY feminist arts and activism. Ladyfest Festivals have now been hosted around the world, and continue to be organised solely by volunteers. This year’s Ladyfest programme in London is expected to attract more than 3,000 attendees.
Ladyfest takes place between November 12th – 14th.
