Scottish singer KT Tunstall has confirmed a rare festival appearance at the Suffolk event Harvest At Jimmy’s.
KT Tunstall began life haunting the open mic and acoustic slots in her home near Saint Andrews. A small Scottish town, the singer built up a cult following with her gutsy performances and sterling songcraft.
After teaming up with Kenny Anderson (better known as King Creosote) the singer struck out on her own. Sending away demo tapes Tunstall managed to earn herself a record deal, and an appearance on ‘Later… With Jools Holland’.
That performance has now gone down as one of the most significant in the history of the show. Armed only with her acoustic and a variety of pedals KT Tunstall burst through her song ‘Black Horse And The Cherry Tree’ winning public acclaim.
Debut album ‘Eye To The Telescope’ was a remarkable success, with the singer following this with follow up ‘Drastic Fantastic’ following in 2007.
Since then, KT Tunstall has retreated from the limelight somewhat. Getting married to her long time partner, the singer began work on a new album which she began recording earlier this year.
KT Tunstall performed a secret show at this year’s Homegame festival. Taking place in her old stomping ground of Anstruther, the singer chose to unveil her new album in an extremely intimate venue.
Typically, the new songs were up beat, acoustic singalongs which bode well for the finished article. KT Tunstall is due to perform some new tracks along with a variety of old favourites at this year’s Harvest At Jimmy’s.
Combining food with music the event takes place in the rolling Suffilk countryside. Amongst the chefs confirmed for this year’s bill are James Martin and Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen restaurant.
Some of the headliners for this year’s Harvest At Jimmy’s include Athlete, Manchester songwriter Badly Draw Boy and many more.
Harvest At Jimmy’s is due to take place between September 12th – 13th.
