Kooks: Live Update

Tickets released today

Indie giants The Kooks are set to play a very special one off date in Leamington Spa next month, and tickets for the gig have now been released.

Led by Luke Pritchard, The Kooks formed in Brighton and swiftly knocked together a set that began bowling over critics and winning the band a passionate fan base.

A bidding war erupted over the group, with The Kooks finally signing to Virgin Records. Locked away in the studio, the band returned with their hugely successful debut album ‘Inside In / Inside Out’.

Spawning a number of hit singles, the album went on to be declared triple platinum with over one million copies sold. With the pressure on, The Kooks decided to stick close to their heroes recording their second album in Ray Davies’ studio in London.

Released as ‘Konk’ it flew up the charts, but it soon emerged that recording sessions had been much healthier than was expected. An extra mini-album of material was soon released titled ‘Rak’ which demonstrated the strength of Pritchard’s writing.

The forthcoming show is set to take place at the Assembly venue in Leamington Spa on April 23rd, with tickets for the gig now on sale.

The show is the band’s first in some time, and could see the band debut new material.
