Returning trio Keane have confirmed a series of British club shows for their forthcoming UK tour.
Overcoming exhaustion, drug problems and internal conflict Keane’s third album ‘Perfect Symmetry’ completed a remarkable comeback. Topping the charts, the record even entered the upper regions of the Billboard countdown as Keane began to make serious inroads into the United States.
Since then, the band have played a series of sold out tours. Taking time off to work on new material, the trio released the experimental mini-album ‘Night Train’ earlier this year.
Featuring tribal percussion, rap music and more the mini-album spawned the single ‘Stop For A Minute’. Featuring K’naan the track is perhaps the most out-there effort Keane have yet released.
Gearing up for a vast forest tour, Keane are preparing to play special shows in woodland across the UK. The trio will play a series of massive dates, with tickets selling out within a few days of going on sale.
In addition to this, Keane have decided to play a number of small club shows in between the vast forest dates. “The forest shows we’re playing in June will be big, glorious singalongs, but we wanted to play some more sweaty and intimate gigs along the way” singer Tim Rice-Oxley claimed.
He added: “We figured out the other day that we haven’t played in Birmingham since February 2007. Birmingham was one of the first cities to really embrace Keane – in fact, we think it was the scene of our first sold out show – so it’s about time we got back there.”
Tickets for the new shows go on sale from 9.30am on April 14th. Keane have confirmed the following dates:
June
15 London The Roundhouse
16 Birmingham Academy
21 Glasgow Barrowlands
23 Dublin Olympia
