Well, that was the weekend that was.
Glastonbury returned once again, with hundreds of thousands of fans flocking to Worthy Farm. Clash was there, too, with Felicity Martin offering on-site anecdotes as the weekend passed – check out some selected highlights HERE.
Preceded by the quite wonderful Dolly Parton, Kasabian brought the festival to a close last night (June 29th) with a typically bombastic set.
Opening with '48:13' track 'Bumblebee' the band then utilised a sample of Kanye West's 'Black Skinhead' to introduce fan favourite 'Shoot The Runner'.
During the set, mysterious messages appeared on the screens behind the band. Amongst the choice picks were 'Bumble', 'Voucher', 'Canister' and 'Dhalsim' – the last of which is actually a character in 'Street Fighter'.
Ending with a lengthy rendition of 'Fire', Kasabian kicked off their encore with a special guest. Noel Fielding appeared on the screens, having a recorded a video message as 'Vlad The Impaler'.
Appearing onstage with the band, Fielding played an extravagantly over-sized bass guitar while singer Tom Meighan adjusted the lyrics to focus on the death of soul icon Bobby Womack.
Ending with a swift cover of Fatboy Slim's 'Praise You', Kasabian then segued into 'L.S.F. (Lost Souls Forever)'.
