Model turned singer Karen Elson has been forced to postpone her upcoming European tour due to unforeseen circumstances.
Damn volcanoes! It looks as though Iceland has claimed another tour victim, with Karen Elson postponing her debut European tour.
Originally a model from the North of England, Karen Elson sacrificed part of her career to become a wife and mother with Jack White. Retiring from the spotlight, the model worked on material as her children slept quietly.
Mixing Americana influences with gothic folk, Jack White overheard his wife and offered to produce her. The result may be released on Third Man, but it is very definitely an independent release from Karen Elson.
A remarkable first effort, Karen Elson was expected to launch a European tour later this month. However the dates have suddenly been postponed with a statement from the singer blaming “events beyond our control”.
Almost immediately, fans have begun speculating on the reasons behind the cancellation. Jack White is set to head out on the road with The Dead Weather, so maybe babysitter’s fees were just too high.
On the other hand, this could simply be the latest in a long line of tours to fall victim to those Icelandic volcanoes.
