Julian Casablancas For Benicassim

DJ Shadow, Goldfrapp also confirmed

Strokes singer Julian Casablancas is the latest star name to confirm his involvement at this year’s Benicassim.

Held in rural Spain, Benicassim has grown to become one of Europe’s premiere festivals. Attracting thousands of fans its eclectic line up is always peppered with exclusive performances and much talked about choices.

This year The Strokes star Julian Casablancas is set to drop by. Releasing his debut solo album ‘Phrazes For The Young’ at the tail end of last year the New York singer stepped out of the shadow of his day job.

Playing a series of solo shows, Julian Casablancas whetted appetites for The Strokes much anticipated comeback. The singer has confirmed a slot at Irish festival Oxegen this summer, and will also play a set at Benicassim.

Joining the New York singer at the Spanish event will be British electro pop outfit Goldfrapp. Led by the ever glamourous Alison Goldfrapp the group will be sure to shimmer in the Spanish sun, mixing material from their new album with hip shaking hits.

Another new announcement from organisers are the inclusion of DJ Shadow. Perhaps the world’s most renowned crate digger, the Californian turntablist is making a rare live appearance at Benicassim.

With flights being arranged to an from the festival, it has never been easier for British fans to indulge in a bit of music and Spanish sunshine.

Benicassim takes place between July 15th – 18th.
