Jonsi For Bestival

Icelandic star makes British appearance

Sigur Ros singer Jonsi is due to make a guest appearance at this year’s Bestival event.

Held on the Isle Of Wight, Bestival is one of the most unique events on the festival calendar. Curated by DJ and label owner Rob da Bank the festival has grown to become one of the most respected events in the country.

Taking place between September 9th – 12th, this summer’s instalment looks set to be the finest to date. The fancy dress theme is set – ‘fantasy’ – and with fans hurriedly pulling their outfits together the line up is expanding day by day.

Sigur Ros singer Jonsi is amongst the latest batch of acts to confirm their involvement. Due to release his debut solo album ‘Go’ later this year, the Icelandic singer is due to step outside of the confines of the legendary post rock group.

Set to headline Bestival, curator Rob da Bank was understandably over the moon about clinching Jonsi’s involvement.

“As a massive supporter of Sigur Ros and just as big a fan of Jonsi’s solo album ‘Go’ this is going to be a very special concert” he said. “Jonsi’s voice is so incredible – get in the queue for the Big Top Saturday night now!”

Other new additions include 80s pop dons Heaven 17, who recently teamed up with La Roux for a special show. The new additions join a star packed bill, with The Prodigy, Dizzee Rascal, LCD Soundsystem and more set to drop by.

Always eclectic, Bristol trip hop producer Tricky is set to appear with hot new talent Ellie Goulding while the likes of The xx, Chase & Status, Gil Scott Heron and more are set to drop by.

Bestival takes place between September 9th – 12th.
