Jonsi Adds More UK Tour Dates

Autumn tour announced

Icelandic singer Jonsi is set to return to the UK in Autumn for a number of tour dates.

As the lead singer of Sigur Ros, Jonsi’s other worldly wail has turned him into a cult icon. Over a series of acclaimed albums the Icelandic group have turned themselves into perhaps the pre-eminent post-rock band, adding their own instruments and even their own language.

With Sigur Ros taking a break to “have babies” the frontman has decided to turn solo. Following on from last year’s Riceboy Sleeps project, Jonsi’s new album is more acoustic in tone than his day job.

Receiving wonderful reviews, Jonsi’s debut solo album ‘Go’ has delighted fans. With Sigur Ros taking time off the singer has decided to head out on the road by himself, confirming three batches of tour dates.

Providing Icelandic volcanoes don’t further pollute the air Jonsi intends to visit Britain in May for two special dates at London’s Forum venue.

Returning in September for a short tour across the country Jonsi then plans to see out the year with a series of shows. Opening in Bristol on September 1st, the shows move between Glasgow, Manchester and beyond.

Seeing out the tour in London on November 26th, Jonsi will bring down the curtain on the current phase of his career. With Sigur Ros set to re-unite early next year hopes are high that the Icelandic group can resume making wonderful music.

Jonsi is set to play the following shows:
