Jonathan Wilson has been added to Wilco’s upcoming European tour at the behest of Jeff Tweedy & Co.
Released earlier this year, ‘Gentle Spirit’ is an album out of time. Steeped in California’s Laurel Canyon tradition, it’s impeccably observed songwriting marked Jonathan Wilson out as something special.
Beautifully recorded, ‘Gentle Spirit’ evoked a time and place but never once felt like a re-tread. Jonathan Wilson played a one off British show earlier this year, but European dates have been thin on the ground.
Now Wilco have stepped in to remedy this. The alt country mavericks have fallen for ‘Gentle Spirit’ and have invited Jonathan Wilson to join them on their upcoming European tour.
Containing some wonderful venues, the American singer will play Glasgow’s Royal Concert Hall on October 24th. Other dates include Manchester Academy on October 25th, before a two night stint at the Roundhouse.
Playing a headline show in London on November 21st, Jonathan Wilson is set to tread the boards at the Hoxton Bar & Grill. Tickets are on sale now – full details of the upcoming tour after the jump.
