It presents his music in a fresh setting...

Jon Hopkins has confirmed plans for a new Polarity tour.

The producer's Singularity tour took him across the globe, reaching fresh heights as an innovative electronic performer.

Polarity allows Jon Hopkins space to present his music in a fresh way, and was presaged by a piano-centric War Child performance in London last year.

These new performances will link together “the two disparate elements of harsh and fragile in my music,” he comments. “And by going between the two, we’ll hopefully create some profound moments of stillness.”

Utilising the grand piano for aspects of the performance, Jon Hopkins will be joined by an extremely small ensemble, including Leo Abrahams, violinist Emma Smith and cellist Laura Moody.

A fresh challenge for the composer, he comments: “Right now I have a set that’s tailored to festivals and to standing crowds and intoxicated people,” he says, “and that’s been amazing, but I would say my deepest nature lies in the stillness, the meditative side of my music.”
