John Grant has added another London show, this time at the lavish Royal Festival Hall.
Working secretly on his solo material, John Grant began stockpiling songs some time ago. Focussing on his surroundings, the tracks picked apart the United States and its attitude to pop culture and homosexuality.
A deeply personal, yet ultimately fun, record John Grant released debut solo album ‘Queen of Denmark’ last year. Critically acclaimed, the album benefited from guest musicians and close collaborators Midlake.
Playing a handful of British shows last year, John Grant played solo or with a handful of guests. Now the singer has recruited Midlake for an entire nationwide tour, which is set to kick off later this week.
John Grant is set to spend the bulk of the summer on the road, and has now added a London show to his plans. Taking place on September 7th, the show in the Royal Festival Hall will draw on ‘Queen of Denmark’ and more.
Tickets for the show are on sale now.
The full tour opens tomorrow (June 22nd) with a show in Bath. Taking place in the Komedia venue, John Grant will follow this with a date in Leamington Spa before a sold out visit to Leeds on June 24th.
Continuing across the summer, John Grant will play Glastonbury on Sunday night (June 26th) before visiting Truck Festival and Standon Calling.
Ending in September, the American songwriter is set to visit End Of The Road before his climactic date in London. Opening a new leg of the tour, John Grant will play shows in Nottingham and Halifax before finishing his summer at Bestival.
