Jeffrey Lewis: Full Tour

Exclusive: Lewis talks to ClashMusic

New York’s resident anti-folk hero Jeffrey Lewis is set to return to the UK for a full tour, and his new album ‘Em Are I’ is also set to be released on the 20th April.

The comic book obsessive is famed for releasing a staggering string of albums, regularly creating his own series of comics and visual entertainment to go with his live set.

An eccentric, brilliant writer, Lewis began life in downtown New York’s open mic scene, before discovering a shared interest with acts such as The Moldy Peaches.

Taking a very hands on approach to music and art, Lewis not only contributed the artwork for The Mountain Goats’ latest LP ‘Heretic Pride’,
but also re-worked legendary anarcho-punk band Crass on his album ’12 Crass Songs’.

The album will be followed by the single ‘Roll Bus Roll’, which will be released on the 18th May.

Speaking exclusively to ClashMusic, Jeffrey Lewis told fans to “expect new songs, old songs, the history of Communism in North Korea, and our new bandmate Fletcher Boote on harmoniums. Or at least one harmonium.”

Sounds great!
