Rap superstar Jay-Z has sold out his upcoming show at London’s Alexandra Palace – in just 15 seconds.
Jay-Z is music industry royalty in the United States. The rapper’s hugely successful albums have made him an icon, courted by some of the biggest record labels around.
The hip hop star was made the MD of Def Jam records, one of the most important positions in American music. However eager to a challenge the rapper recently penned a mammoth deal with Live Nation.
With his new album ‘The Blueprint 3’ being released through Roc Nation, the partnership appears to be paying dividends. The record has topped charts around the world, even turning Jay-Z into a household name in Britain.
Previously unreceptive to his charms, Jay-Z has cracked the British charts. Currently two tracks by the rapper sit in the Top Ten, with his new album ‘The Blueprint 3’ being one of the year’s fastest selling records to date.
Announcing a series of one off shows in London, Jay-Z has proved to be hot property. A recent support slot with Coldplay demonstrated his live prowess, with tickets for the upcoming shows quickly selling out.
A show at The Roundhouse sold out a few hours after going on sale. Due to take place on September 18th, the show will be followed by a very special performance in Alexandra Palace.
Taking place on November 4th, tickets for the show went on sale at 9am this morning (October 9th). Within 15 seconds all the briefs for the show had been snapped up, according to Live Nation.
