Jay-Z, Jack White To Appear At SXSW

But not together...

Jay-Z and Jack White are amongst the latest big name acts to confirm a slot at SXSW.

SXSW just seems to get bigger each year. Now almost encompassing every bar, cafe, theatre and impromptu venue space in Austin, Texas the event will kick off for another year this Monday (March 12th).

This time round, Jay-Z will be there. The hip hop heavyweight appeared at last year’s event, as the special guest of Kanye West.

Obviously gaining a taste for SXSW, Jay-Z has been booked to make a solo appearance. The show is in partnership with American Express, and will take place this Monday (March 12th) at Austin City Limits Live.

Can’t make it? Don’t worry – the entire show will be streamed online via the American Express YouTube channel. If you’re in Austin, you might be interested to know that the concert will be broadcast from a digital billboard on the corner of 6th Street and Red River.

Jack White is another stellar name making a return appearance to SXSW. The boss of Third Man records, the guitarist will take the Nashville based imprint to Texas for another unusual showcase event.

Billed as the Texas Stand Off, the show takes place on March 16th and features Jack White’s former wife Karen Elson, John C. Reilly & Friends, The Black Belles and more alongside special guests White Rabbits, Reggie Watts, Natural Child, Electric Guest, and Purling Hiss.

Alongside this, Third Man’s Rolling Record Store (a converted truck packed with vinyl) is set to roam the streets of Austin, carrying with it plenty of one off releases and rarities. Watch out for it from Wednesday (March 14th).

The Clash team are busy packing their things for a typically frenetic visit to SXSW. We will be hosting a number of shows, as well as blogging live from the event.
