Jamie Woon Confirms One Off Show

Soulful performer breaks cover

Jamie Woon is set to preview new material at his only headline show of 2010 later this month.

Entirely self-taught, Jamie Woon mixes a soulful delivery with a forward thinking attitude. A loose comparison would be Jamie Lidell, with the two Jamie’s sharing an interest in looping electronica.

However Jamie Woon’s approach is much more idiosyncratic. Initially working with just an effects box and his guitar, the singer’s effortless voice turned him into cult property attracting some high profile remixes.

Burial broke down Jamie Woon’s music, exploding it into a thousand glistening fragments. Introducing elements of dubstep into his songwriter, the London singer retreated to work on new material.

Returning earlier this year with ‘Night Air’ the influence of sub bass was palpable. The track was a stunning return, with Ramadanman’s refix already a staple on the dubstep scene.

Working on his debut album, Jamie Woon is planning to break cover to play his only headline live date of 2010. Having retreated to his bedroom, the self-taught producer has completely changed his direction.

Forming a small live group, Jamie Woon is now planning to unveil his debut album in intimate circumstance. The singer will perform on November 25th, at the XOYO venue in London.

A much talked about venture, XOYO combines a performance space with art elements. Uniting various facets of London’s creative scene, the venue is the perfect place for Jamie Woon to launch his debut album.

Expect soulful vocals, glitch laden electronic and plenty of sub bass. Bigger and heavier than before, Jamie Woon’s forthcoming debut will have people talking.

Jamie Woon is set to play the following show:
