James Yorkston Adds Christmas Show

Second festive date announced

Fife troubadour James Yorkston has confirmed an extra date for his upcoming Christmas extravaganza.

Playing in a variety of groups around Edinburgh, James Yorkston eventually grew dis-satisfied with electric music. Retreating to his home in Fife the singer began reaching back to his folk roots, crafting spell binding new material.

A member of the Fence Collective – whose fellow alumni include King Creosote, KT Tunstall and more – James Yorkston was often a star of the group’s infamous parties. Taking over local pubs for songwriting sessions, the Fence gang held special events for Christmas and of course Halloween.

Now an established songwriter in his own right, James Yorkston never forgets his roots and often returns to the Fence fold. However the singer likes to strike free and plays a special show in London every years to celebrate Christmas.

This year the songwriter is set to play The Luminare on December 21st. With prizes offered to fans in the best costume, this clearly isn’t your average staid folkie fare.

With tickets long since sold out James Yorkston has added another show on December 20th, and the singer has unveiled a special guest. Kathryn Williams is an acclaimed voice in her own right, nominated for both Mercury and Grammy awards.

With James Yorkston making up special CD-R compilations for early arrivals, this looks like a festive bash with a difference!

James Yorkston has confirmed the following tour dates:

December
20 London The Luminaire (SOLD OUT)
21 London The Luminaire
