James Murphy has been working in the studio with Arcade Fire – as officially confirmed by Quest Management.
It's been one of the year's most prevalent rumours. James Murphy is now a free agent, following his decision to call time on LCD Soundsystem, and fans have continually linked the producer to those ongoing Arcade Fire recording sessions.
Chatting to the Huffington Post back in October, James Murphy seemed to pour cold water on the speculation by asserting that such reports were “not necessarily true”. Now, though, it seems that the pairing could be set to move forward.
Arcade Fire manager Scott Parker is interviewed in the latest edition of Music Week, and dropped a bombshell for fans. "They're in with James Murphy on three or so songs, plus Markus Dravs who is a long-time collaborator" he explained. "They write too many songs – that's a good problem to have. There's around 35 songs with Arcade Fire, two albums'-worth for sure."
Well, well.
