Jackson Extends Residency Again

More shows could be added

As phone lines and ticket agencies struggle to cope with extraordinary demand, Michael Jackson has added more shows to his residency in the O2 Arena.

Ladies and gentlemen, the king of pop is back. After years spent gaining the wrong type of headlines, Michael Jackson seems intent to prove that he is, first and foremost, an entertainer.

Jackson announced a ten show run at the massive London venue last week, but since then has been stunned by the public’s reaction. Adding an extra date this morning, the singer has added more dates this afternoon (March 11th) bringing the total to twenty three shows.

That number could still rise, yet already it stands at two more than Prince’s historic residency. Titled ‘This Is It’ the singer claimed it would be his last shows in the UK.

Demand for tickets has been huge with Michael Jackson’s website struggling to cope with pre-order registration. More than one million people have registered for a chance to buy tickets to the singer’s first concert since 2005.

Jackson is expected to earn up to $400 million from the event.

Michael Jackson’s O2 Arena residency opens on July 8th.
